A registry cleaner is a kind of application utility created for the Microsoft Windows operating system whose purpose is to take away redundant or undesirable products from the Windows registry. Nevertheless the necessity and usefulness of registry cleaners is a controversial topic, with specialists not agreeing on their benefit. The issue is further clouded by the reality that malware and scareware is often linked with utilities of this type. Objective Registry Cleaners are software program utilities that try to get rid of configuration data from the Windows Registry that is no longer in use or that is undesirable on the method. Such data might include data left by software that has not been uninstalled entirely from the laptop or computer, info that is no longer of use, or settings needed for the operation of malware. WORKS AS ADVERTISED, May 20, 2010
By G. Gibbs “OK4NOW” (U.S.A.) –
This review is from: Tuneup Utilities (3-User) (CD-ROM)
I was a little skeptical to buy this product but after reading many favorable reviews on various websites I decided to give it a try. The format is simple and very intuitive so the learning curve takes all of 5 minutes. This software digs deep into areas of your computer that would otherwise be very time consuming & complex to do on your own. It does increase speed and optimize your internet connection by eliminating unnecessary start-up programs and fine tuning other programs. The only conflict that I am finding is the registry cleaner. On my first scan it found 79 problems. This perplexed me because I have been using Registry Mechanic (its only function) for many years which does an excellent job of scanning and keeping the registry clean. When scanning with TuneUp Utilities it finds numerous problems which Registry Mechanic has already corrected. Then when I run Registry Mechanic it finds many problems that TuneUp supposedly corrected. Grrrr. A software conflict that really is no big deal. Bottom Line: TuneUp does so many things well it is worth the money. You will not be disappointed.

Powerful and Easy to Use, March 18, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Tuneup Utilities (3-User) (CD-ROM)
This is the best product of its class that I’ve found. The interface is not just simple to use, it is actually fun to use. The interface is very efficient and easy to maneuver around. It is extremely powerful in the sense that you can really get “under the hood” and mess around with the system, but it is also relatively safe – it is easy to back out and restore things if you overdo it and delete some component or capability of your system inadvertantly. The only thing I had that was sort of a negative was a problem registering the trial version of the software. I received the free version on line with the option to upgrade to the paid version. When the time came, I decided to pay on line but the company apparently had issues with my physical address (I’m in Iraq with the Army) not matching my billing address. I ended up having to come to Amazon to buy the software. (I should have just been able to do it on-line.) No big deal in the long-run. I wanted the physical disks anyway and the price was the same.

Beats Norton Utilities hands down, July 25, 2010
By Michael D. Waters “Sys Admin” (Franklin, TN) –
This review is from: Tuneup Utilities (3-User) (CD-ROM)
My combination is Tune Up Utilities 2010 and Norton Internet Security 2010. I just discovered “Turbo Mode” in Tune Up Utilities 2010 and WOW. This software is easy to use, intuitive, and really will keep your system optimized and running smoothly. As a computer user since 1983, I would highly recommend this product. It works as advertised and is worth every penny.

@SgtForge03 Try a system restore to a time when everything worked. This has always worked for me when I’ve had problems with whatever.
