Question by ashypea: “Windows could not update the computer’s boot configuration” prompt through Vista install. Assist?
I lately attempted to set up Vista on my HP Mini 110-1000 Netbook. I made it about halfway via the installation when this message came up :: “Windows could not update the computer’s boot configuration. Installation can not proceed.” I do not have an optical drive so I downloaded the Vista software program upgrade straight to my personal computer. I discovered a “repair” to a registry important on the Microsoft internet site,
“Upperfilters=PartMr”, but my registry currently had this setting. Any assist would be tremendously appreciated, as of proper now I am at my wits end with PCs…

There was a prior installation on the technique and that is why you got the message that you did. Employing the installation that you chose it saw that truth. If you choose to carry on with that installation you must format the difficult drive, then do the install. But you are utilizing an upgrade and that expects the presence of an OS. So it is no very good for a clean set up. See if a clean install version is offered. That would be the OEM version for your program
